We provide the traditional compliance services to a broad range of local and international clients, including Auditing, Review and Compilation, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Sales and Income Tax Return Preparation, Tax Planning, Estate and Succession Planning, Business Planning / Projections, Financing / Mergers, Business Valuations, and Litigation Support.
The key to our success and growth, and what distinguishes us from other CPA firms, is our focus on non-compliance services. These services may include counseling our clients on the complex and often troublesome relationships among family members and employees in a closely-held business. Tom and Steve draw on their sensitivity and experience gained from over thirty years of practice when advising clients on business and related matters. Our firm also provides personal financial planning services for our clients. While we do not sell products to our clients, we prepare a comprehensive financial plan to assist our clients in meeting their future goals.
To ensure that all the professionals and staff of DeMott & Smith PC are informed of current law and practice changes, the firm subscribes to the latest tax and CPA reference libraries, and is a member of the CPA's professional associations - the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. In accordance with their professional education requirements, each of the firm's CPA's receive at least 40 hours of continuing professional education every year. DeMott & Smith PC also has a thorough Quality Control Policy in place which requires a "Peer Review" by other CPA's every three years. This peer review allows us to receive an independent assurance that our firm meets the profession's highest service standards.
